Video conferencing
University Systems Video Conferencing allows for face-to-face interaction with sites virtually anywhere in the world from our staff supported, dedicated video conference rooms. It also reduces travel costs and increases productivity. We provide dedicated video conference rooms in the Clearihue Building, equipped with high-definition cameras, microphones, and flat-panel displays - all supported by trained personnel. Remote clients can access our video conferences using dedicated video conference rooms, web browsers, telephone, and even iOS devices.

This booking form is available to UVic employees. Students can book project rooms for basic video conferencing needs.
What is the cost for this service?
This service is free to use. If you're unable to make your booking, please let us know as soon as possible.
When is this service available?
Media Services Video Conferencing facilities are open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Bookings outside these hours are considered on an individual basis based on staff availability.
Important Note
These video conference rooms are to be used Only to host video conferences. If you do not intend to use the rooms for there intended purpose, please contact Room Bookings to assist you in finding an appropriate room that meets your requirements.

Desktop video conferencing allows for audio and video communication with online participants using a web browser, video conferencing systems, telephone, and mobile devices. The desktop video conferencing service is currently powered by Zoom and supported by the Computer Help Desk. For more information about Zoom at UVic, click here.
Dedicated video conference rooms in the Clearihue Building are supported on-site by Media Services. Our rooms are fully equipped with displays, cameras, microphones, and speakers. There are connections for your laptop should you wish to bring one. Remote clients can join your video conferences using web browsers, dedicated video conference systems, telephones, and mobile devices.
Video conferencing is available for UVic faculty, staff, departments, and researchers.

Our video conferencing facilities are in the Clearihue Building and your attendees can join from off-campus with a supported online connection and the authorized credentials to attend your meeting.
For your desktop video conference, you are responsible for providing a minimum of a computer or mobile device with a webcam, microphone, and speakers. If you need additional equipment such as microphones, speakers, laptops, cameras, or displays, rent them from .
Our dedicated video conference rooms have all the necessary equipment for your video conference, including displays, cameras, microphones and speakers. There are connections for your laptop should you wish to bring one.
This offering is obsolete. Zoom desktop video conferencing and Microsoft Teams are available for all UVic staff and faculty to replace the BCNET BlueJeans Service.

Media Services will provide the connection information you need to send to your online participants and provide support to the local room participants on the use of the in-room technology. Support for online participants must be handled by their own local IT staff (or through Zoom support). There is very little we can do to support remote participants.
