Servers & storage
University Systems maintains enterprise-level database and application server environments. Members of the university community may request a database on shared MySQL or PostgreSQL environments to run custom applications or websites. Dedicated Microsoft SQL or Oracle databases can be supported based upon client or software requirements. This support includes system updates & security patches, proactive monitoring & response, and regular backups.

How do I request or access this service?
Bring your hardware to the Computer Help Desk to request access to this service.
What is the cost for this service?
Shared database services are provided free of charge. Dedicated application and database servers may incur additional costs depending upon the configuration needed. Please contact the Computer Help Desk for more information.
When is this service available?
Support services are available Monday - Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm excluding statutory holidays. Some systems maintenance can be arranged to be done outside normal business hours.
Other information
Clients will be asked to sign a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with University Systems which further defines the terms and conditions of this service.
