Multi-Access Classrooms
Media Services
UVic has two classrooms with all-new technology upgrades for multi-access courses, where students can participate in-person or online
About Multi-Access Classrooms
In a multi-access course, students can participate in-person (e.g., physically on campus) or online (e.g., remotely in real-time via Zoom or Teams). Multi-access courses may or may not include online asynchronous components (e.g., online discussion boards and online activities).
Two classrooms have been enhanced with technology to support multi-access learning: HHB 110 and CLE A127.
These classrooms are also part of the centrally booked classroom pool. If you have this space booked for your classes you are not required to teach in multi-access format if you prefer not to.
Teaching in-person and online attending students simultaneously provides new opportunities for:
- Students to participate regardless of their physical location (e.g., can participate online, in-person or a combination of the two).
- More flexibility, enabling students who are not able to attend class in-person to fully participate in the course (e.g., due to illness, comforts on being on campus, financial constraints, etc.).

To use the classroom technology you need an instructor key to the instructor cabinet. Faculty, ask your department's general office for a key. If you are booking a room, students contact the UVSS general office, others contact Room Bookings.
Please help keep your classroom secure by locking the cabinet when you leave.
Desktop Computers
Both classrooms are equipped with a managed desktop computer which is integrated into the classrooms audiovisual systems.
They all have the following software:
- Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (VPN)
- Echo360 Universal Capture
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Office including Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft Edge
- Zoom
Classroom Desktop Lecture Capture and Lapel Microphones
Both classrooms are equipped with Desktop Lecture Capture technology and wifi lapel microphones.
