Call flow patterns and options

Each local has the following call flow pattern defined for on-campus callers and off-campus callers (e.g. when the local is in use an off-campus caller dialing the local can hear a busy signal where an on-campus caller can be routed to voice mail).

When your local rings four times the options are:

  • Route the caller to the voice messaging system.
  • Route the caller to another UVic local.
  • Do not do anything, let the phone continue ringing.

When your local is busy the options are:

  • Present a busy signal to the caller.
  • Route the caller to the voice messaging system.
  • Route the caller to another UVic local.
