Delete backup files on the TSM server: Mac OS X

Files stored on the TSM server that are no longer needed should be deleted to ensure there is free space on the server for all users. Files deleted on the server will not affect the files stored locally on your computer.
- In the Finder, navigate to the Application folder and then open the IBM Spectrum Protect folder. Double click on IBM Spectrum Protect Tools for Administrators.
- From the dialog box, select IBM Spectrum Protect and click OK.
- If prompted, enter your computer's administrator name and password.
- If prompted, enter your computer's TSM node name and password.
- In the main window, click on the Utilities menu and select Delete Backup Data.
- Browse and select your files for deletion:
- Place a checkmark beside each of the files and folders you wish to delete.
- Click the triangle beside each volume to expand, and then click the triangle beside folders to expand further. Continue expanding the structure until you find the folders/files you would like to delete.
- Place a checkmark in the box beside each file and folder that you would like to delete.
- Click the Delete button once all files and folders that need to be deleted have been selected.
- Confirm that you wish to delete your files and folders from the server.
- The deletion status will be displayed as your files are deleted. Click Stop if you wish to abort the process. Click Report if you wish to view a detailed progress report.
- When the deletion is complete, click OK.
- Close the detailed status report to return to the main menu.
