Connect to UVic: macOS

After the initial configuration, you should automatically connect to the UVic wireless network.

  1. Before you start this procedure, ensure the following:
    • Your laptop is powered on and booted up.
    • You are in an area with wireless coverage.
    • You have a NetLink ID and password.
  2. At the top-right corner of your screen there should be the Wi-Fi icon.
  3. Click on the Wi-Fi icon (it may be partially darkened) to reveal a menu and then click on Turn Wi-Fi on.

  4. Select UVic from the list of available networks.

  5. Enter your Username: [your NetLink ID]@uvic.ca] and Password, check the box beside Remember this network, and click on Join.

  6. You will be prompted to accept the UVic Wi-Fi certificate. Click on Continue.

  7. After clicking continue, you will need to enter the computer account and password.
  8. You should now be connected to the UVic secure wireless network.
