Reregistration
You will need to apply for re-registration if you:
- were withdrawn under any other circumstances
- are transferring into another degree program
- are continuing with non-degree studies
- are adding another program or applying to a new one
Returning after an approved withdrawal
You have to through the online application system if you:
- wish to return to your prior degree program
- wish to move into a new degree program with transfer credit from your prior degree program
In the online application you'll have to upload:
- a course retention request form
- unofficial transcripts and other application documentation if requested
You’ll be able to register for classes once your application is approved. To avoid delays, you should apply well in advance of your desired return date. We also recommend that you communicate with your current or prospective department.

Continuing with non-degree registration
When you are admitted as a non-degree student you will be registered in the courses requested on your application if they are approved by the academic department.
You will need to complete a graduate registration form for subsequent or additional registration in the same or next academic session. If you take a session off you must re-apply for admission through the online application system.

Transferring to a different degree program
You can apply to transfer to a new degree program without completing your current one. To do so, you must submit an application to transfer through the online application system.
You’ll upload a course retention request form form with your application.
You’re required to inform your current supervisor of your intentions. You can speed up the application process by uploading memos of support from your current and proposed supervisors.
You’ll be able to register for classes in your new program once your application is approved.
To avoid delays, you should apply well in advance of your desired return date. We also recommend that you communicate with both your home and prospective departments.

Reinstatement after withdrawal without permission
You need to apply in order to return to your program after a violation of Faculty of Graduate Studies policy (withdrawal without permission). Use the online application system to re-apply.
You’ll need to have the following documents at the time of application:
- a course retention request form
- unofficial transcripts and other application documentation if requested
- payment of re-instatement fee penalty
You’ll be able to register for classes in your program once your application is approved.
To avoid delays, you should apply well in advance of your desired return date. We also recommend that you communicate with your home department. If you are changing departments, make sure you communicate with your prospective department, too.
Once your application has been approved, you'll be eligible to register for classes. Apply well before your desired return date and contact the department you're applying to.
