The Scarborough Charter Steering Committee is continually working to update this page to provide resources for the Black, African, and Caribbean community to support their experience at UVic. UVic's Black Admission Stream for Law

UVic's Black Admission Stream aims to respond to these historic and ongoing inequities within the UVic Law community, and the profession more broadly, by intentionally seeking to admit more Black students.

Association for Black Professors and Academics

  • - Student volunteer opportunities and connections for adoptees of African descent.
  • - Mental health support based in Vancouver (virtual and in-person care) with a directory of BIPOC therapists. 
  • - Provides anti-racism and equity facilitated discussions and consultation especially against persons of African ancestry. 
  •  - Pilates studio for women to develop a strong body, rejuvenate people’s lives and help build a healthier society. 
  • - An organization that confronts barriers that limit access to healthcare and full reproductive choice for Canadian BIPOC women, two- spirit, and non-binary folks.
  • - A judgement-free zone dance-based Soca fitness studio. 

Learning resources

  •  - General resources to help illustrate the various forms of anti-Black racism experiences and what is being done to move racism to inclusion and actions in the national post-secondary sector.
