Standard admission process

Most students applying for undergraduate degree studies at UVic follow our standard admission process. This includes:

  • High school students in your graduating year
  • High school graduates who have not studied full-time in college or university
  • College/university students who want to transfer from other post-secondary institutions
  • Degree holders (college/university graduates)

Refer to individual programs for the specific admission requirements.

Other admission options

These categories allow applicants to submit additional information that isn't considered in the general admission process.

Returning UVic students

If you previously registered in credit courses at UVic and have been away for more than one year (three terms), you'll need to apply for readmission before you can register for future courses. When you submit your application, you can choose to return to your previous program or request a new one.

Exchange, study abroad and visiting students

If you're enrolled at another university or college, you can take courses at UVic that count toward your degree at your home institution.

Exchange programs

If your school has an agreement with UVic, you can attend UVic as an exchange student.

Study Abroad partners

Students from Study Abroad partners in Denmark, Germany and Norway can visit UVic for one or two academic terms.

Visiting with a letter of permission

If your school isn't partnered with UVic, you can visit us with a letter of permission.

Community members

Community members can apply to take a limited number of credit courses per term without completing a degree through discovery studies.

Alternatively, you can register to audit courses for no credit.
