Sexualized violence support at UVic

If you or someone you know has experienced sexualized violence and there is an immediate health or safety concern, call 9-1-1. If the immediate health or safety concern happened on campus, you should also call Campus Security at 250-721-7599; they are available 24/7 for information and options for support.

UVic provides a variety of different information and support options for those impacted by sexualized violence. We recommend that if you are impacted to contact the Sexualized Violence Resource Office. Their services are for all students, staff and faculty members at UVic.

The office:

  • provides information about support options on- and off- campus as well as direct referrals
  • provides information and advice about options under the Sexualized Violence Prevention and Response Policy (GV0245) including Voluntary Resolution Processes
  • receives disclosures
  • coordinates on- and off- campus supports
  • is the place on campus to file a formal report that could lead to an investigation under the Sexualized Violence Prevention and Response Policy (GV0245)
  • coordinates education and prevention efforts on campus for students, faculty and staff
  • creates and delivers prevention workshops and presentations

There are other primary options for support on campus, including the , as well as Support Groups offered through the UVic Student Wellness Centre.
