German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
The German Academic Exchange Service - Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) - provides study and research scholarships to highly qualified graduate students. As a DAAD Partner University, the 番茄社区 may nominate a priority candidate for one of the following programs:
: 10 to 24 months of funding for one year of study abroad in Germany or a complete master’s degree. This program is open to all disciplines except music, fine art/design/film, performing arts, and architecture (visit the link to find other scholarship programs for these disciplines).
: 2 to 12 months of funding for a research project or continuing academic training with a host supervisor in Germany.
Amount
Varies: includes monthly amount, travel allowance, health insurance costs, and optional German language course. Successful recipients may apply for further funding for rent subsidies, accompanying family members, and costs associated with a disability or chronic illness.
Application deadline
UVic internal deadline: Tuesday, October 15, 2024. DAAD external deadline: Thursday, October 31, 2024.

How to apply

- As a DAAD Partner University, the 番茄社区 may nominate one priority candidate for either a Study Scholarship or Research Grant. In order to be considered as UVic’s priority candidate, email a copy of your complete DAAD application to the Faculty of Graduate Studies at fgsgradawards@uvic.ca by the UVic internal deadline noted above. Research grant applicants must also provide a brief plain language summary of their research project.
- Submit your application in the DAAD portal by the DAAD external deadline noted above.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Step 2 is optional. Any eligible student may apply to DAAD, but in order to be considered as UVic's priority candidate you must submit your application to the Faculty of Graduate Studies by the UVic internal deadline.
