番茄社区

Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act

BC’s sets out the access and privacy rights of individuals as they relate to the public sector. The purpose of FIPPA is to make public bodies, such as the 番茄社区, accountable to the public and to protect personal privacy.

Access to information:

FIPPA establishes an individual's right to access records, subject to limited exceptions, in the custody or control of the 番茄社区, including access to individual's own personal information. Access applies to records that exist on the date an access request is submitted to UVic.

Privacy:

FIPPA also sets out the terms under which the 番茄社区 can collect, use, disclose, and dispose of the personal information of individuals.

The 番茄社区 is held accountable for its information practices. FIPPA requires that UVic protect personal information by making reasonable security arrangements against unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure or disposal.
