About our Program
The Minor in Education is designed for students interested in teaching in their workplace, and focuses on the basic foundations of learning, teaching, and instructional design. It will meet your needs as an informal educator (volunteer and/or paid staff) if you plan to work in settings with an instructional component.
Examples can include:
- Museum or tour guides
- Community program leaders
- Corporate training and education
- Workshop instructors
- Park guides
- Gallery educators
- Social service agencies
In your core block of courses, you'll cover an introduction to Education, learning design, and a practical 40 hour volunteer experience that gets you out in the field.
You’ll then select a few electives from the wide variety of approved courses.
