What do I have to do to be eligible for admission?
General applicants must:
- present proof of having received, with standing satisfactory to the Faculty of Law, a degree from the 番茄社区 or an equivalent degree from a recognized college or university; or
- present proof of having completed, with standing satisfactory to the Faculty of Law, at least the first three years (45 units) of a program leading to a degree at the 番茄社区, or the equivalent at a recognized institution; and
- allow UVic admissions staff to access your Law School Admission Test (LSAT) score obtained in the last five years; and
- satisfy other requirements as may be prescribed from time to time.
What goes into my application?
A complete application will include:
- Submission of the online application form
- Payment of the application fee
- Law School Admission Test (LSAT) test (written no later than the January test date)
- One transcript from all post-secondary institutions attended (including exchange and study abroad transcripts)
- A
- One academic letter of reference sent to us (lclerk2@uvic.ca) by your referee
- One reference letter describing your suitability for and commitment to this unique program sent to us (lclerk2@uvic.ca) by your referee
- A JID statement describing your connection to and/or involvement in an Indigenous community, the reasons why you want to pursue the program and how you will enrich the learning environment at the faculty;
- TOEFL results, if your first language is not English, andyou have not completed a minimum of three full academic years of post-secondary study that was taught and assessed in English; and
- Applicants with foreign undergraduate transcripts should include an evaluation by a foreign credential evaluation service (course-by-course evaluation), such as the This does not apply to exchange transcripts or Graduate transcripts.
How will you decide if I get an offer?
Admission decisions are determined by your academic evaluation (GPA and LSAT weighted 50/50) and a holistic review of all other elements of your application. If you have multiple LSAT scores, the highest score is considered. Only LSAT scores within five years of the application deadline will be accepted. An incomplete application will not be considered.
