REDCap
REDCap is a secure, browser-based application for constructing databases and designing and performing surveys.
You can control data collection instruments, fields, and participants from within the browser. You can import and export data from the application. A wide variety of user controls exist for project customization.
REDCap and all data contained within it are hosted on UVic infrastructure. This is physically located at the 番茄社区 in British Columbia, Canada.
We regularly update REDCap to the latest stable release.
If you already have access to a REDCap project, you can sign in now. Otherwise, read on to find out how to get started.
How to get started
REDCap is available for academic research purposes to all researchers associated with a UVic faculty member.
REDCap project and admin access is available to on-campus/VPN addresses only. Participant survey links are openly available.
Project and admin access can only be granted to UVic affiliates with a NetlinkID.
External project members can request an affiliate account and NetlinkID.
Starting a new project
A research group member can to REDCap for your research project. Your request will be reviewed by an administrator. Upon approval, a project will be created for your group in REDCap.
Joining an existing project
If you need access to an existing REDCap project, contact us with
- the name of the project
- name of principle investigator (PI) or UVic faculty member associated with the project
- the NetlinkID of new user

- REDCap is available for academic research purposes only. It cannot be used for commercial or personal purposes.
- Users must be affiliated with a UVic faculty member
- All users are expected to have completed an appropriate privacy, security, and confidentiality training
