Our research impact is recognized by our high rankings from Leiden University Ranking (1st in Canada,  50th globally) and  (2nd in Canada, 42nd globally). Each of our main research groups ( pure, discrete, applied, and statistics) is among the top in the country. Some of our areas of expertise include dynamical systems, operator algebras, graph theory, mathematical modelling, and sampling.
