Interested in the molecular basis of life?

At UVic, we combine biochemistry and microbiology. These are the disciplines central to molecular biology and biotechnology. We're working on the development of diagnostics, vaccines and therapeutics for some of the most pressing health problems.

Our undergraduate courses emphasize modern laboratory techniques and will give you the skills to launch your career. You can get research experience working with experts in our honours and co-op programs or directed studies and research experience courses.

Our graduate students study and work alongside researchers on projects that include microbial pathogenesis, immunology, epigenetics and gene regulation.
