Azra Fanoos holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and has an impactful career in academia and university leadership. She served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Lakki Marwat (ULM) in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where her presence was particularly notable as the only female employee at the institution.

During her tenure, she also took on key leadership roles as Director of the Women’s Development Center and Director of Student Affairs and Financial Aid. Dr. Fanoos was instrumental in creating the Women’s Development Center, an innovative initiative aimed at fostering leadership skills among female students, faculty, and staff, thereby addressing gender disparities within the university.

Her research centers on gender, leadership, and social justice, with a particular focus on intersectional barriers to women’s advancement in educational leadership. Dr. Fanoos is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Global Studies, where she continues her work on these critical issues.
