CFGS Fellowships and Awards
CFGS offers fellowships for Graduate students (Masters and PhD), UVic faculty and visiting fellows.
CFGS launched its fellowship program in January 2013. The CFGS fellowship program provides opportunities to graduate students and visiting scholars.
The fellows are awarded a stipend and are provided with a title, an office (possibly shared), an opportunity to provide a public lecture based on their research, opportunities to work on the projects housed in the CFGS, and regular opportunities to meet other students, professors and visiting scholars interested in related issues.
Ordinarily, fellows are expected to stay for at least 2 academic terms up to a maximum of 12 months and are expected to conduct their work in the centre's quarters, to participate actively in the programs and activities of the centre, and to give at least one public seminar or lecture on the theme of their research.
Normally our intake of fellows is annually in September (with some exceptions for short-term stays).
Applications are due by November of each year (see individual applications for yearly due date). Please note, proposals submitted outside of the regular application deadline schedule (especially those that are not stipendiary) may also be considered at the discretion of the director. Click on "Apply Now" tab for application details.
If you have any questions regarding CFGS' fellowship program please contact Jodie Walsh 250-721-8800 or jodie@uvic.ca.
COVID-19 Considerations: The university is primarily in person. While we do not know what the future will hold, we are committed to providing an inclusive experience for the 2022-2023 fellowship program. Please let us know if you are experiencing any barriers due to COVID-19.
