Bio
Dr. Simard’s research interests are galaxy formation and evolution, digital image processing, and astronomical instrumentation. He is the author of a galaxy image analysis software package used worldwide in over 300 refereed publications. He worked on developing instruments for the Thirty Meter Telescope from 2005 to 2017. In 2018, he was appointed the Director General of the Herzberg Astronomy and Astrophysics Research Centre.
