Liquid biological waste disposal
As part of a multi-phase hazardous waste optimization project, OHSE is advising that the disposal protocol regarding level I and Level II liquid biological waste (i.e. cultures, supernatants, media) all liquid waste must be disposed of using safe sink disposal following one of two treatment methods:
OHSE has phased out the yellow jerri-cans general use. A few are kept in circulation for circumstances where liquid biological waste cannot go for safe sink disposal (toxic chemicals or addition of hormones). It will be up to each department to determine which protocol method is preferred and would suit your needs best.
