Co-op and Career Services advances SDG 4 by offering paid work experiences for students locally and abroad, supporting experiential learning and improving the quality of their education.

Café Scientifique

The Faculty of Science's Café Scientifique series are free and casual community lectures, providing opportunities to learn about exciting new discoveries in modern science and meet experts in the field.

Public lectures on campus

UVic sponsors a number of public lectures on campus featuring the words and works of distinguished men and women across a vast array of academic and research endeavours.

Vocational workshops

The Digital Scholarship Commons at the Libraries offers a set of and events for the UVic community, in areas such as data analysis and visualization, research, writing and communication, makerspace tools, etc.

is a program of research and community-based innovation that engages STEM students from underrepresented groups and connects them with mentors from industry and the community to ideate and co-create solutions that address society's most pressing challenges.

Literacy & anti-racism education

The Faculty of Education is committed to creating an inclusive learning and research environment with deep respect for all forms of diversity, aiming to promote decolonization, accountability, ethical leadership and lifelong learning in our community and beyond.

Language revitalization

UVic hosts a number of professionals at multiple faculties fully dedicated to ensure a generation of language experts with the skills to lead successful language revitalization efforts in Indigenous communities.

Decolonizing education

UVic advances SDG 4 by embracing a profound commitment to Indigenous engagement and decolonizing education. Dr. Vanessa Andreotti, the new Dean of the Faculty of Education, has worked extensively across sectors with NGOs, professional associations, governments, social movements, and communities.

Kidovate

is a fun, free, youth entrepreneurship initiative offered by the Gustavson School of Business that supports middle school and high school age students in developing their own products and services.

Science Venture

UVic's is a non-profit organization that offers hands-on, minds-on science, engineering and technology learning opportunities for youth entering grades 1 through 12

Centre for Outreach Education

CORE is a multidisciplinary centre, dedicated to enhancing the education of children and youth and transforming their learning through personalized tutoring services.

Training to advance the SDGs

UVic’s commitment to advance SDG 4 is supported by CIFAL Victoria, a UN affiliated training centre delivering accredited courses, workshops, seminars and conferences in three continents.
