About

I grew up on the unceded territory of the Wet'suwet'en people in Northern BC. Post-secondary studies have brought me to the unceded territories of the L’kwungen (Songhees and Esquimalt) and W̱SÁNEĆ, where I am currently completing my education and training in counselling psychology. When I am not at the SWC, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring the island, knitting, and both playing and watching a variety of sports. I identify as a cis-gendered woman and use she and her pronouns.

Counselling approach

I take a humanistic approach to counselling, recognizing that individuals have within them the resources for growth and healing. My focus is on helping students connect with their innate ability for growth and to bring awareness to their strengths. To support this connection I look to a variety of approaches, including, emotion-focused, strengths-based, self-compassion and acceptance and commitment therapy. I view counselling as a collaborative and empowering process, where students’ own knowledge and experiences are at the forefront.
