The Centre for Global Studies is pleased to offer UVic scholars fellowship opportunities. The CFGS invites applications from UVic scholars for 6 month fellowship appointments at the centre commencing in July or January of each academic year.
Topics: The CFGS promotes critical citizenship in a complex and rapidly changing global environment including the advancement and understanding of major global issues by civil society, the private sector, governments, and international institutions. UVic faculty are invited to apply who are engaged in similar topics of a global dimension. These topics may include, but are not limited to: global governance, international environmental challenges, social justice issues, and culture and identity. Applications from all disciplinary backgrounds are welcome.
Type: These fellowships would cover the costs of one course, and would exempt successful applicants from (most) administrative duties in their home department/program. Fellows would take up residency at the CFGS offices for a six month period commencing July or January of each year.
1. Research Completion Faculty Fellowships: These fellowships are aimed at UVic faculty members involved in well-advanced research projects who are seeking a sustained period of time to bring their projects to fruition.
2. Research Development Faculty Fellowships: These fellowships are aimed at UVic faculty members who are committed to launching a major collaborative research project involving national or international partners (in the academic, political or NGO spheres) and addressing one of the four CFGS themes. These fellowships would allow UVic faculty to craft major grant applications and create international research teams.
Value: Teaching-release time equal to the value of one 1.5 credit course; office space (including wireless Internet, fax and copy services) in the Centre’s Sedgewick premises
Eligibilty: The fellowships are open to faculty members with regular tenured or tenure track appointments at the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø
Length of stay: Ordinarily, fellows stay for 6 months.
