Andrew Harding
Position
Andrew Harding received his MA (Oxon) in 1974, his LLM (Singapore) in 1984, and his PhD (Monash) in 1987.
He is a leading scholar in Asian comparative law, having served as Head of Department and Professor of Law at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London, and Chair of SOAS' Centre of South East Asian Studies. He has previously taught at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore and has been a Visiting Professor there, at Harvard Law School, and at Melbourne Law School. He co-founded and serves as Co-Editor of Hart Publishing's series 'Constitutional Systems of the World'. His interests are in Asian legal studies, comparative public law, law and development, comparative law theory and environmental law. His recent publications include The Constitutional system of Thailand: A Contextual Analysis (with Peter Leyland, 2011), and New Courts in Asia (edited with Pip Nicholson, 2010).
