5 Days of Action (November 4-8, 2024) amplifies the work groups, units and organizations are doing to create a more diverse, inclusive and equitable campus and community throughout the year. Each day of the week represents a different call to action with many opportunities to reflect on what we can do as individuals and as part of a team to improve the sense of inclusion and belonging in our greater community.
Below are the recommended sessions that we feel would be particularly beneficial to researchers curious to learn how to embed EDI considerations in their research environments.
This session will provide participants with accessible information about their rights and responsibilities under UVic’s new Discrimination and Harassment Policy.
Developed to support UVic’s implementation of the Equity Action Plan (EAP), the Equity Lens ABCs is a simple yet effective tool that anyone can learn to use in their daily work.
Presentation on the work undertaken to design a reporting and planning process that is accountable, collaborative, respectful and resilient.
A series of lighting talks followed by a panel on how UVic units are answering to the Accessibility Plan's Calls to Action.
