Finding air photos in the Maps and GIS collection
Maps and GIS has air photos of locations on Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands.
Airphotos can be found by using either:
- Airphoto index maps OR
- On-Line tools in the tabs below
Air photos are filed in the cabinets by roll number (flightlines).
Most, but not all, air photos may be borrowed for the same loan period as books. Sign them out and return them to the Ask Us Desk.
BC airphotos from 1963 - onwards .
Check UVic Libraries' air photo holdings with the by roll number and photo number.
- BC airphotos from 1936 - 1963 can be searched via the tool. OR
- BC scanned air photo flightline index maps
With either of the above, use the UVic Libraries to see if we have the photo(s).
To find federal air photos of BC, use Natural Resources Canada or Canadian air photo index maps (of roll numbers and flightlines).
With the above, use the UVic Libraries to see if we have the photo(s).
