Credits

Credits at UTS:

  • Full-time option: 18-24 UTS credit points

Course Evaluations at UVic: 

  • Once accepted, UVic exchange students will be able to submit UTS courses to UVic for evaluation. The results will indicate how many UVic units each UTS course is worth, as well as the course equivalency.
  • This evaluation process opens in late September for Spring exchange terms and in late March for Fall exchange terms. Evaluations take 4-6 weeks for results to be made available. 
  • Course evaluations results are tentative until the end of the exchange term, when a final evaluation is conducted by UVic Records using your UTS transcript, and the results are applied to your UVic transcript. 

Housing

Immigration, Medical Insurance, and Fees

 Visa:

  • Once a student has accepted their full offer, UTS will issue a Confirmation of Enrolment
    (COE) which the student must use to obtain their Student visa (subclass 500) through the

  • Note: CoE documentation must be checked thoroughly by the student before applying for a
    visa. UTS is not liable for any additional visa changes or extensions costs.
  • When applying for the , exchange students should select Non-
    Award Sector.

Medical Insurance: 

  • All student visa holders are required to purchase Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). We recommend , however students may see other providers .
  • Students will be sent instructions on how to purchase OSHC when they receive an offer to study at UTS. UTS does not purchase OSHC on behalf of students.
  • Exchange students are responsible for ensuring their OSHC policy covers the full duration of their student visa.
