Shannon L Pelkey TŦE NE SNÁ. My traditional name is “KELŦ,SMA” which comes from Kelthsmaht. I am from the Tsawout and Ahousaht First Nations. I was born and raised here in Victoria. I am a mother of 4 wonderful children who I take a lot of pride in raising. Before starting work here at the University, I was employed at Tsawout First Nation for almost 2 years. It was then I discovered that I enjoy engaging and working with the Elders and knowledge keepers from these territories. In my spare time I enjoy taking part in cultural activities and ceremonies, But also teaching my children the ways of our ancestors. I look forward to all the amazing opportunities this job position has to offer.
