Community & industry
We rely on the involvement of our community partners to enrich our educational experience. Community partners provide real-world perspectives, rich learning opportunities and rewarding networking experiences, and benefit from the ideas, passion and knowledge brought by students.
Hire a student
Support our students to learn in the workplace, and get the benefit of their passion, knowledge and business skills. Every Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) student and many business master's students complete co-op work terms (similar to paid internships) during their time at Gustavson. Businesses can hire a current student full-time for an academic term through our co-op program.
Connect with students
Gustavson's Connections Hub connects community partners with students to support their learning. To engage with any of the following opportunities, please contact the Connections Hub.
Networking
Meet with students one-on-one or at events that are part of the social life of the school:
- share your experiences in a coffee chat (informational interview)
- become an ongoing member of a student’s Gustavson network (aka their personal board of advisors)
- attend formal and informal school events which take place throughout the school year
Classroom-connected learning
Contribute to learning that connects to students’ coursework:
- be a guest speaker in a class or at a school event
- participate on a discussion panel
- be a judge for an internal case or pitch competition
- volunteer a real-world project for students to apply their classroom learning to
- offer a workshop for students outside their regular coursework
Mentorship program
Share your professional experience and insights with our students as they navigate towards their career and life beyond graduation:
- commit to a formal 6-month mentorship relationship with a student from any of our programs
- specify your preferred mentee experience levels

Consult our MBA students
Have a business problem and think it would make a good consulting project for our MBAs? Our MBA in Sustainable Innovation students work in teams to address real business problems as part of their final-term coursework.
Note: we welcome submissions of Capstone Consulting ideas, but not all submissions will be selected by students for completion. Thank you for your understanding. If you would like to put an idea forward, please email the MBA Academic Director.
