Diploma in Indigenous Language Revitalization
Honour your language
The Diploma in Indigenous Language Revitalization (DILR) assists those who want to build on their Indigenous language skills, better understand the contexts in which Indigenous languages can be revitalized, and gain some basic teaching skills.
Program delivery:
The undergraduate diploma is a two-year program, potentially including the Certificate in Indigenous Language Revitalization (CILR) or the Certificate in Indigenous Language Proficiency (CILP), and/or a path that ladders into the Bachelor of Education in Indigenous Language Revitalization (BEDILR) and BC teaching certification.
This program is delivered in a community-based (language specific) partnership format. Therefore, students move through the program as a cohort. Program electives can be selected based on partnership & cohort specific requests. If your community is interested in a partnership to deliver this program, please contact us.
