Apply for admission
Applying for admission to our graduate programs
We accept graduate degree candidates under the general regulations of the Faculty of Graduate Studies as outlined in the .
Not all students who apply and meet all the admission requirements will be accepted. We receive many applications every year but constraints of space, funds, and scholarships/assistantships prevent us from accepting as many students as we would like.
Requirements
Master’s programs: We require a four-year (60 units) baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
PhD program: Admission to PhD candidacy is reserved for those able to present evidence of superior academic and research ability. A PhD candidate will normally hold a master's degree in engineering. Transfer to a PhD program prior to completion of a master’s is allowed under some circumstances.
If your background is not in mechanical engineering, you may be required to take make-up courses (not for credit) as a condition of admission. Learn about information for on the Faculty of Graduate Studies site.
