Sustainable Development Goal 7
Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
Learn how UVic advanced SDG 7 during 2023
On this page you can get a glimpse of the great work done by the campus community to advance SDG 7 during 2023, centred around the key areas of the university:
Education & student experience
SDG 7 in action at Co-op
Co-op and Career Services offers placements locally and abroad, where students have the opportunity to participate in projects that advance affordable and clean energy.
New housing & dining
UVic opened a new student housing complex, designed and built with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) V4 Gold and Passive House standards.
Green building design course
The covers concepts related to sustainable design and construction (green roofing, water efficiency, LEED certification, Life Cycle Analysis, etc).
Campus as a Living Lab
Campus as a Living Lab will be a university-wide program that uses the campus and surrounding areas as places to engage with, trial and advance real-world climate and sustainability solutions.
