Professor (Chair)
Ulrich Mueller’s research focuses on the development of executive function (i.e., higher order cognitive skills involved in problem solving), the development of embodied cognition, and the effects of electronic media on children’s development.
Dr. Mueller’s research on executive function examines the contribution of social-communicative skills (e.g., conversation, narrative, sociodramatic play) to the development of executive function skills in preschoolers. His research on embodied cognition investigates the reciprocal relation between sensorimotor processes and conceptual development in school-aged children.
Dr. Mueller is also interested in and conducts research on the effects of electronic media on a variety of different developmental and health outcomes.
Administrative officer
The Administrative Officer manages administrative functions in the department including being responsible for communications, planning, and coordination of special events and projects. They act as the Department's human resource contact for all matters related to adjunct faculty, post-doc, sessional instructors and teaching assistant appointments.
Administrative Assistant
Assistant to the Chair
The Psychology Department Secretary manages the general office, handles all administrative aspects of current faculty appointments/reappointments, assists with faculty searches and department events while providing support for the Department Chair and the Administrative Officer.
Graduate secretary
Karen is the Department's Graduate Program secretary. She advises graduate students and faculty about program requirements, keeps records on graduate students, prepares agenda for graduate committee meetings, and provides information to prospective applicants.
Senior Academic Coordinator
The Senior Academic Coordinator (SAC) provides undergraduate advising, facilitates curriculum development and delivery for the Department’s diverse undergraduate programs, and runs the Department’s outreach and recruitment efforts.
Senior Lab Instructor
The Senior Lab Instructor, organizes, develops, and instructs in the Department of Psychology’s PSYC 201 (Research Methods) and PSYC 300A/B (Statistical Methods) Laboratory programs in close coordination with course instructors. Some responsibilities include creating labs, preparing notes for other lab instructors, teaching labs, supervising TAs assigned to the course team, and coordinating marking for large courses.
Psychology Clinic Secretary
The Psychology Clinic Secretary handles administrative tasks related to the Psychology Clinic, including accounting for the Clinic and Test Sales Office, and working closely with Clinical Psychology graduate students and clients. The Clinic Secretary works with the Clinic Director to ensure smooth daily operations of the Psychology Clinic.
Psychometry Instructor
The Psychometry Instructor teaches graduate level courses on test administration and scoring. She also provides support to the Psychology Clinic Director regarding the Psychology Clinic Test Library and other test-related and scoring-related clinic tasks.
