PhD (Waterloo)
Area of expertise
Surface spectroscopy, Raman, photovoltaics, bioanalytical, cancer research, single-molecule detection
Research
Our research program is geared towards the understanding of surface processes and the development of surface-sensitive spectroscopic methods. We are particularly interested in the application of in situ spectroscopic probes to the characterization of electrochemical interfaces. We are also investigating the optical and spectroscopic properties of both periodic and random metallic nanostructures.
Teaching
Dr. Brolo's teaching interests are in analytical and physical chemistry. He has taught a variety of courses including general first year chemistry, statistical mechanics, instrumental methods of analysis, advanced instrumentation, electrochemistry and spectroscopy.
