High school students
High school students are welcome at UVic Libraries. You can:
- Use our books, maps and other printed material on site
- Get a community card and borrow books
- Use our electronic resources with a guest Netlink ID on our public computer terminals
- Use UVic Guest wifi on your own device
- Ask questions at the Ask Us desk, or consult a librarian
- Make yourself comfortable in our study areas
Prepare for your visit:
- Check our hours and locations. The Mearns McPherson Library is the "main library," and areas within it may have different hours than the main building.
- Bring a government issued photo ID (to get your library card and guest computer ID).
- Search for books before your visit. Note their locations and call numbers so you can find them on the shelves.
- Bring a flashdrive to save the results of your research, or plan to email resources to yourself via a web based email account.

Find your way around:
- Review our floor maps to find your way around the library

- UVic is well served by public transportation, and the main library is a short walk from the campus bus hub
