Library services

As a UVic graduate, we encourage you to stay connected with our libraries and use their resources.

  • Alumni can borrow books, CDs, and LPs from the UVic Libraries collection with an Alumni or community borrowers card.
  • From home, you can also get access to selected  for which we've negotiated access for alumni. Not all digital products are available to alumni due to certain publishers’ licensing terms. You'll need an active Netlink ID to log in. Alumni who do not have a may apply for one online. Additional online resources may be available at your local public library.
  • Alumni can access all online library and databases under the “walk-in” provisions of the Libraries’ licenses. To do this, connect to the public wi-fi on campus with your own device (phone, tablet, laptop) and navigate to resources on the UVic Libraries’ site.
  • Alumni can remotely access a number of resources under the  heading that includes a variety of resources such as journals, eBooks, primary digital resources, and government publications.
  • The Libraries’ Ask Us desk can issue you a guest Netlink ID so you can access thousands of e-journals and e-books from our public computers.
  • Alumni can borrow items from other university libraries using our interlibrary loan services for UVic alumni.

  • The libraries have many openly available digital collections on the , including historical newspapers, UVic yearbooks, and UVic publications.
