The UVic Department of Greek and Roman Studies offers a wide spectrum of programs leading to the BA degree. These range from intensive Honours programs (30 out of 60 units), which should be started as soon as possible, to the General program (as few as 12 out of 60 units), which can be undertaken as late as the third or even fourth year. In addition, a Minor in this field (9 units at the 300/400 level, plus 3 units at the 100/200 level) may be added to an Honours or Major degree in another field. Students are welcome at any time to discuss their program with the or Chair and are encouraged to do so as early as possible in the course of their studies.

Our Department offers the following degrees and programs:  Greek and Roman Studies General Program and Minor Degree; Greek and Roman Studies BA Major; Greek and Roman Studies BA Honours; Greek and Latin Language and Literature BA Major; and Greek and Latin Language and Literature BA Honours.  In addition to the outline of requirements below, the Academic Calendar for the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø also presents the requirements for the various degrees and programs along with a suggested schedule of study.

Program Planning Worksheets for a GRS major or a Greek and Latin Language Major are available, and declaring a major in GRS is very easy (see our webpage or Academic Advising).
