I was born-and-bred here in Victoria, and I’ve taught literature and composition at UVic since 2009. I’ve also taught at Western and Camosun College. My scholarly interests are chiefly in the Renaissance (particularly the works of Spenser, Sidney, and Shakespeare), the relationship between landscape and literature, and the history of zoology from the fifteenth to seventeenth centuries. I also studied modern Icelandic at the University of Iceland, but have forgotten almost all I learned.
