ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT:
Mobility has transformed computing over the past decade. The Android operating system is the most widely adopted mobile platform representing 79% of mobile consumer operating system devices shipped in 2013. This project examines a key security issue in the Android operating system: SMS based botnets. We examine how a botnet infects a device, and what mitigations strategies are possible. Our analysis focuses on a short messaging service botnet structure and investigates a new detection model using the concept of the Android Intent Object.
