Summary:
Discovering or optimizing a functional material is a deterministic factor in the pace of developing industries. High-throughput experimentation employs automation in conducting three steps including synthesizing, screening (characterizing), and analyzing in a systematic manner. We have developed a method of synthesizing using slot-die coating in which the binary optimization platform becomes ready for characterization in less than one minute. The fabricated platform is capable of being characterized in a high-throughput manner using a robot arm. We measured absorption spectra and photoluminescence peaks of over 200 compositions deposited on one substrate via a robot arm to explore the degradation mechanism of the fabricated binary compositions. The introduced solution-based synthesizing method can be developed to discover higher dimensions of optimization.
