Emily Wordley is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at PRIMED, focusing on engaging island communities within Marine Renewable Energy decision making processes. Her research focuses on exploring community perceptions, acceptance, prior experience, power dynamics, trust, and fairness within Marine Renewable Energy decision making processes and outcomes. She is also exploring the use of the Community Voice Method and documentary filmmaking, as tools for engagement and visual storytelling, providing a platform to amplify community voices and promote meaningful dialogue.
Emily is part of the Coastal Community Solutions Leadership (CCSL) program, and her research will contribute to broader areas of work such as ACET project, to build clean energy literacy in coastal BC communities.
Emily brings professional experience in the management of terrestrial and coastal community environmental projects and campaigns, working directly in partnership with communities and environmental stakeholders. She also has over 10 years’ experience working as a freelance filmmaker.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys running, triathlon, competitive cheerleading and flying her drone over beautiful seascapes and landscapes.
