Riley recently completed his B.Sc. at the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø where he gained experience in a multitude of fields from studying the impacts of shipping noise on marine cetaceans, to climate adaptation for VIHA facilities, and most recently an Honours thesis examining government policies and the use of marine spatial planning to enable marine renewable energy development in BC and Scotland. Following a brief trip to Europe and an internship at a Canadian renewable energy company, Riley is back at school undertaking an interdisciplinary masters investigating suitable locations for, and the economic feasibility of, integrating tidal energy in remote coastal BC communities. He is extremely passionate about finding innovative solutions to combatting climate change that better society and have minimal impacts on the environment. His work is supervised by Dr. Brad Buckham of the Engineering department and Dr. Rosaline Canessa and Dr. Lauren McWhinnie of the Geography department
