Field Work Coordinator
Pacific Regional Institute for Marine Energy Discovery (PRIMED)
Contact
Office: Marine Technology Centre
Credentials

B.Eng and M.A.Sc. from McMaster University

Area of expertise

Field project execution, marine science data collection, acoustic current meters, oceanographic instrumentation

Jeremy has seventeen years of consulting experience in oceanography, hydrology, and limnology, working on over 100 field expeditions across eight countries and four continents. Some notable projects include a seven-year study of ocean currents and wave regimes in the Eastern Mediterranean, and extensive work measuring ocean current, ice drift, and ice thickness in the Beaufort Sea, Chukchi Sea, Caspian Sea, Baffin Bay, and Fram Strait. He has also conducted lake current studies and environmental baseline data collection in Lake Tanganyika. Jeremy is proficient with a wide array of oceanographic equipment, from ADCPs and ice profilers to passive acoustic recorders, CTDs, turbidity and chlorophyll sensors, tide gauges, water, and sediment samplers.

His expertise extends to scientific mooring design, water current mapping surveys, and processing complex oceanographic data. At PRIMED, Jeremy plans and executes field operations in challenging energetic marine environments. His current research centers on data collection for offshore wind, tidal, and wave energy including environmental baseline and monitoring.
