Credentials
BEng (Reutlingen University), MSc (Warwick University)
Area of expertise
Energy demand, End-use electrification, Renewable energy, Water supply
Tamara completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø in 2024. She also holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Business Management from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor's degree in International Project Engineering from the University of Reutlingen.
Tamara’s research focuses on modelling the energy system transformation in British Columbia with a focus on system flexibility in a net-zero energy system and is being conducted under the supervision of Prof. Andrew Rowe and Prof. Peter Wild. During her PhD, Tamara created a demand model that projects future building end-use energy demands in high spatial and temporal resolution. In her research, Tamara investigates the impact of technology choices and demand-side management strategies, such as space heating control, on future capacity and flexibility requirements of the electrical grid. Further, she examines how future electricity loads can be met in a highly renewable energy system considering multiple flexibility strategies to mitigate a future mismatch in energy demand and supply.
Outside of research, Tamara enjoys hiking, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.
