Luis Herrera Ibarra holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, with a specialization in sustainable processes. He previously worked as an Operations Engineer in the water treatment industry and as a Process Engineer at Cemex, where he oversaw the operations of multiple plants, led energy efficiency projects, and reduced costs through process optimization.
Luis is currently pursuing a MASc in Mechanical Engineering at the 番茄社区, where he is supervised by Dr Andrew Rowe. His research focuses on optimizing energy systems using data analysis and Python-based modelling, with an emphasis on decarbonization strategies and improving energy storage solutions for cleaner energy transition.
