Art exhibitions at UVic
The UVic Legacy Art Gallery Downtown聽operates as a lively and engaging centre for art that is easily accessible to the community. Legacy will feature several free and open to the public art exhibitions this fall.
On top of the Maclean鈥檚 2022 university rankings
Maclean鈥檚 magazine has released its annual university rankings, with UVic ranked as Canada鈥檚 top comprehensive university, a distinction it shares with SFU this year. UVic was also ranked as the top school for promoting Indigenous visibility鈥攁 position it鈥檚 held since this category was introduced in 2018.
Welcome to the territory and installation ceremony
Following Coast Salish protocol, Dr. Kevin Hall formally requested permission to work on the territory prior to being installed as UVic鈥檚 eighth president and vice-chancellor at a ceremony hosted by Chancellor Shelagh Rogers and the Office of Indigenous Academic & Community Engagement.
Indigenous business development work awarded
This September, all eyes were on UVic business grad and instructor Cory Stephens as the newest recipient of the Award for Excellence in Aboriginal Relations, presented by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) and CIBC.
