Office: ECS 424
Credentials

BS, MS Hohai (CN), PhD KU (USA)

Area of expertise

Soil Erosion and scour, non-self-supporting materials, sustainable reuse of waste and contaminated soil, pile foundations, storm surge wall and bulkhead, slope stability, paved and unpaved roads

Experience

  • Associate Professor, 番茄社区, July, 2022 - present
  • Assistant Professor, 番茄社区, October, 2016 - July 2022
  • Project Geotechnical Engineer II, Terracon Consultants, Inc., March, 2015 – October, 2016
  • Project Geotechnical Engineer I, Terracon Consultants, Inc., March, 2013 – March, 2015
  • Staff Geotechnical Engineer, Terracon Consultants, Inc., March, 2012 – March, 2013

Research Interests

  • Soil erosion and scour
  • Non-self-supporting materials (sewage sludge, dredge sediments, mine tailings, and grouts)
  • Sustainable reuse of waste materials and treatment of contaminated soils
  • Pile foundations (with a particular emphasis on large pile foundations for liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities, foundations for harbor and waterfront structures, and foundations for transmission lines)
  • Storm surge wall and bulkhead (including sheet pile wall) design and testing
  • Slope stability analyses including underwater slope stability analyses due to harbor deepening
  • Paved and unpaved roads (with an emphasis on unpaved road design for construction equipment mobilization on soft ground)
  • Ground improvements
