Juan Ortiz
Juan received his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad de Costa Rica. After graduating he worked at Agilis, a company that designs gas turbines. It was very challenging for him to be part of a team that was developing new technology but he felt that his real calling was on the renewable energy area. So, when an opportunity came for joining a company oriented to renewable energies he did not hesitate to move on . He jointed Saret one of the leaders in the hydroelectric project construction in Central America. He worked in several important projects were he gained a great deal of experience. He also understood that, his country really wants to succeed in using renewable energy sources, it has to use different options of renewable energy.
In May 2013, Juan joined IESVic and started his Master's in Mechanical Engineering. He is focusing on wave energy conversion system design.
