Nominations are now open for two new awards celebrating UVic community members who advance the rights of others. The inaugural Provost鈥檚 Advocacy and Activism Awards in Equity and
Diversity recognize the achievements of individuals or groups in the university community who demonstrate dedication to the advancement of social equity.
UVic received an honourable mention at the Community Energy Association's 2013 Climate and Energy Action Awards for its part in Ready, Set, Solve, the CRD student climate
challenge. The Office of Campus Planning and Sustainability and Waste Reductio鈥�
The celebration of this year鈥檚 President鈥檚 Distinguished Service Awards, hosted by President David Turpin, took place on Feb. 21 at the Cadboro Commons Dining Room, as the closing
event for the Connect U all-staff conference.
On Feb. 25 at the annual Victoria Leadership Awards (VLAs), 21 local heroes were honoured including Drs. Ana Maria Peredo and David Chuenyan Lai, recipients of the 2013 University
of Victoria Community Leadership Awards.
